Projects worth recommending
There are many projects out there – too much for one lifetime to discover them all!
That’s why i decided to create a list of those that i personally have used and can approve.
NVIM
Neovim is a project that seeks to aggressively refactor Vim in order to:
- Simplify maintenance and encourage contributions
- Split the work between multiple developers
- Enable advanced UIs without modifications to the core
- Maximize extensibility
It’s a great tool for every programmer to learn. Vim motions speed up coding, while clean UI helps you keep focus on what is important.
Blender
Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing, motion tracking and video editing.
If you’re into creating visually stunning scenes, games or movies – it’s definitely worth checking out!
I personally use it quite frequently – mostly for my own fun projects.
Learning curve might be a bit steep, but thanks to recent additions it’s relatively painless – and rewarding.
